A message from the Premier

At the beginning of this school year, I renewed my invitation to Victorian students in Prep to Year 9 to take up the challenge of reading a specified number of books by 31 August 2008. I also invited Year 10 students to take part in the Challenge for the first time. More than 210,000 students from 1,300 schools committed once again to take up the Reading Challenge. This included 3,400 Year 10 readers and more than 20,000 children in Prep exploring reading at school for the first time. I am delighted to report that over 115,000 students completed this year’s Challenge. The Reading Challenge is now closed.

Kora, like any youngster, is out to amaze the world with her first egg.

Why I love reading…

I love reading fiction books because I use my imagination and it takes me to the world I have never been to.

My favourite book is Matilda by Roald Dahl. My other favourite book is The Twits which is also by Roald Dahl.
