Update on Knowledge Bank Networks and Rich Picture Case Studies

We received an excellent response to the April 2006 funding round and were pleased to announce that funding was allocated to five (5) online networks and eighteen (18) Rich Picture Case Studies.

The variety and quality of applications we received from across the schools sector certainly reflected the enthusiasm and innovation bubbling away in our schools sector. We received some outstanding networks proposals, several of which were organised around developing strong existing informal networks within the online environment. The selected Networks focused on a variety of topics including school leadership, experiential education and science in primary schools. Networks were supported in the rich online environment of EdNA Groups, a free service for communication and collaboration between members of the Australian education and training community.

The Rich Picture Case Studies selected represented not only a good cross-section of the schools sector but also a great range of tools and technologies. Applications were received to develop podcasts, digital stories, digital video, animations and blogs, with content ranging from historical fieldwork to literacy teaching tools. Case Studies were completed in September 2006, and have been shared and celebrated on Knowledge Bank.
